1) Introduction
NTUC Education and Training Fund (N-ETF) is an endowment fund, established on 1 October 1998 with the objective of promoting, assisting, developing and sponsoring programmes for the development of skills and re-training of our union members, so that they remain competitive and employable in changing times.
Currently, members can get N-ETF funding support when they attend individual initiated training that is not supported by their employers.
2) Eligibility Criteria
The N-ETF Award/funding is payable upon course completion for union members who meet all the following criteria:
i) Union Membership
Members (both Ordinary and General Branch) must be union members at course commencement and maintain their union membership throughout the course duration;
ii) Course and Examination Attendance
Members must attain a minimum of 75% attendance and sit for all prescribed examinations;
iii) Not in Receipt of Sponsorship
Members must not be in receipt of any other course sponsorships, e.g. sponsorship from employers or any other forms of sponsorships including scholarships and bursaries.

5) Application/Claim Procedures
i) Certifiable Courses under NTUC-Surrogate Employer Programme (NTUC- SEP)
When a union member applies for SDF course fee funding through the NTUC-Surrogate Employer Programme (NTUC-SEP), he is deemed to have also applied for this N-ETF Award. There is no need for a separate application for this Award.
Upon satisfying the N-ETF Award criteria on course completion and submitting the claim documents through the NTUC-SEP, the N-ETF Award shall be disbursed to the successful union member via Giro.
ii) Other N-ETF Approved Courses
For the N-ETF approved courses which are not funded through NTUC-SEP, the eligible union member shall apply for the N-ETF funding after the successful completion of the course/module/semester. The union member shall submit the claim documents through the NTUC Customer Service Centre (CSC) within 1 month of completion of the course/ module/ semester or last date of examinations (whichever is later), together with the following documents:
- A duly completed N-ETF Application /Claim Form
(obtainable from NTUC Customer Service Centre);
- Original Course Fee Receipt;
- Original Certificate of Attendance;
- Certified True Copy of Examination result slip/Certificate (where applicable);
- Photocopy of bank book/card/statement that reflects member's name and bank account number
The N-ETF funding will be paid to the successful union member via Giro.
